CHRIS BAUER 4 PUBLIC ADVOCATE 2025
CHRIS BAUER 4 PUBLIC ADVOCATE 2025
What is a Public Advocate?
The Public Advocate acts as a liaison between city government and its citizens, investigates complaints about city services, and assesses whether agencies are responsive to the public. The Public Advocate also has the right to participate in City Council discussions and introduce legislation.
Although Chris Bauer has been a lifelong Advocate, this is her first run for public office as an INDEPENDENT candidate in 2025. Chris decided to run for Public Advocate during the COVID pandemic because she believes our government failed us in many ways. Those 3 years proved that LOCAL ELECTIONS MATTER! Chris believes “New Yorkers must know who their City Council Member is, what their City Council believes and what legislation is being passed that will affect New Yorkers for decades.” She will be the VOICE FOR ALL NEW YORKERS and an Advocate for Common Ground.
Affordable housing has always been an issue in NYC for decades. Chris will support and back the city Council and the Mayor and, more iimportantly , move our city government forward from rhetoric to action,
QUALITY OF LIFE ISSUES
SAFE and RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
These are taxpayer rights, not privileges. The first step is AUDITING THE MTA. ALL collected TOLLS should go towards infrastructure and safety.
Increase the number of Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police.
Abolish CONGESTION PRICING because it hurts the MIDDLE CLASS.
CRIME and MENTALLY ILL/HOMELESSNESS
New York needs to RE-IMAGINE, REFUND and review the NYPD and City Services.
RE-IMAGINE: Elevate the technology infrastructure.
REFUND: NYPD 2025 starting salary = $47,000. This is not sufficient.
NO BAIL for repeat criminal offenders.
NO TAXES on TIPS and OVERTIME
The State of New York does not have to wait on the Federal Government to act on this issue. The Governor and State Legislature could pass this law.
Major boost to the MIDDLE CLASS: Restaurant, Hotel Services, Doormen, Valets, Retail Workers, and Bartenders, etc. Let’s give back to the PEOPLE that make this city run.
Approximately 70% of workers work overtime at least once a week.
MENTALLY ILL / HOMELESSNESS
Find the results of the ThriveNYC, Chirline DeBlasio initiative aiding the mentally ill and homeless New Yorkers at a cost to taxpayers of $800,000,000! That’s almost a billion dollars!!! Where did it go? If we can’t claw it back, then let’s rebuild compassionate care facilities for the less fortunate and get them the help they need.
Support Involuntary Commitment for the mentally ill.
